Some views are only for the keen observer. For many, the occasion would have slipped in front of their eyes. Well done 👍 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Thank you Martin. I’d been looking out of the observation hide for a while before seeing it. LikeLike Reply
Thanks Sarah, yes, normally it’s a flash of blue speeding away into the distance … LikeLiked by 1 person Reply

What a marvelous photo, Denzil! It would make a lovely but devilishly difficult puzzle. 🙂 janet LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Oh have I met another jigsaw puzzle fan? I always have one on the go. Music and jigsaw is my before bedtime relaxation. LikeLike Reply
We love to do puzzles but if I’m working one before bed, I tend to stay up too late. I read every night before bed, although that often keeps me up too late as well. 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
great shot of the kingfisher! i wish i could get nature shots with more exotic birds, it must have been nice even to look at it LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
It is the only Kingfisher I have ever photographed. And yes, a special bird. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Lucky you to not only see a kingfisher but to capture one too! They are such stunning birds. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Yes, normally it’s their backside that I see as they shoot off downriver. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Good eye picking the kingfisher out from that background, Denzil. Nice shot! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply

In New Zealand, I have found the kingfisher loves to perch on fences, and yes, they are difficult to capture, though well worth the patience to do so. LikeLike Reply

Indeed, and pretty well disguised. I didn’t see it at first.
