Chinese Forget-me-not

Easy to grow from seed, beloved by bees!

If you have children or grandchildren, and you are thinking of a nice spring gardening project for them, then may I introduce Chinese Forget-me-not (Cynoglossum amabile)?

Chinese forget-me-not

It’s easy to grow from seed: either in a seed tray or straight into the flower border.

It germinates quickly so the child can see things happening from week to week.

It looks nice and has plenty of attractive flowers.

Bees love it, as do hoverflies. So the child will be promoting garden biodiversity!

Chinese forget-me-not

I grew mine from a packet of seeds last year and had great success. This year I haven’t planted any new seeds as this plant self-seeds and the new seedlings are sprouting up everywhere!

Submitted for Cee’s Flower of the Day.
